Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic EHS Teacher Aide to join our educational team in Waynesville. In this vital role, you will support classroom teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive, and effective instruction tailored to students with diverse learning needs. Duties Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans that incorporate literacy, math, and curriculum development strategies suitable for early childhood and special education students. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and facilitating a safe, nurturing environment for children with disabilities or autism. Help prepare instructional materials and adapt activities to meet individual student needs, including toddlers, preschoolers, and children in daycare or private school settings. Provide one-on-one support to students with disabilities or behavioral challenges, ensuring they stay engaged and on task during lessons. Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress, document observations, and assist with assessments related to childhood development and behavior management. Assist with daily routines such as meal times, bathroom breaks, and transitions to promote independence and social skills among young learners. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster a supportive educational community focused on growth and development. Experience Prior classroom experience working with children in early childhood education, daycare, or preschool environments is preferred. Experience supporting students with special needs, including those with autism or disabilities, is highly desirable. Knowledge of curriculum development methods such as Montessori or other preschool teaching philosophies is a plus. Familiarity with behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies for young children is essential. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and team members. Background in literacy education, math instruction, or working with individuals with disabilities will enhance your ability to support diverse learners. Previous experience in private schools or daycare settings demonstrates adaptability across various educational environments. $15.34 - $16.77 per hour
