Job Description

EL Student and Family Support Educator
Description:
The EL Student & Family Support Educator works with parents of EL children to provide information and support needed to ensure student success.
Job Summary:
Assist Petal Early Learning Collaborative and Petal Primary School teachers in communicating/conferencing with EL parents. Recruit EL families to participate in the PAT program. Prepare educational activities for participants. Arrange for periodic screening of EL children's overall development, language, hearing, and vision. Provide classroom support for teachers, families, & children in Petal Early Learning Collaborative and Petal Primary School classrooms. Assist EL students during instruction and assessment. Assist with interpreting for parents of EL special education students at IEP & eligibility meetings. Assist parents during the enrollment/registration process. Other responsibilities assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree-Proficiency in understanding & speaking Spanish-Experience working/interacting with EL children &/or families

Salary to be determined depending on certification, degree and years of experience according to District Salary Scale.
