Job Description

Job Title:
Electronics Assembler Job Description This role focuses on building custom electrical equipment and assemblies for agricultural products, including wiring, high-voltage work, and integration of pumps, VFD drives, and hydraulic components. You will perform hands-on electrical and electronic assembly, from wire pulling and hand wiring to testing and verification, while interpreting blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate and reliable builds. Responsibilities Assemble custom electrical equipment and components according to blueprints, schematics, and work instructions. Perform electrical assembly tasks, including wire pulling, hand wiring, and routing of wire harnesses and cable assemblies. Work with pumps, variable frequency drives (VFDs), hydraulics, and related electrical and mechanical components as part of the assembly process. Carry out high-voltage electrical work safely and in accordance with established procedures and standards. Use hand tools and power tools to assemble electrical and mechanical components, panels, and subassemblies. Measure, cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires and cables using appropriate tools and techniques. Verify proper torque on terminal blocks, VFD lugs, and other connections using torque screwdrivers or torque wrenches. Use test equipment such as multimeters to check voltage, continuity, and resistance, and perform basic diagnostics on assemblies. Assist with insulation testing of motors and VFD cables using appropriate resistance testing equipment when required. Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate component placement and wiring. Support mechanical aspects of assembly, including panel layout, component spacing, conduit work, and hose cutting as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety guidelines and procedures. Lift, move, and position components and assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that require standing, bending, and twisting throughout the shift. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve assembly issues and continuously improve build quality and efficiency. Essential Skills Electrical experience and knowledge of electrical components, including practical, hands-on assembly work. Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints or electrical schematics. Experience building or assembling electrical equipment or components from start to finish. Electrical wiring experience, including routing, terminating, and securing wires and harnesses. Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for assembly work. Familiarity with electronics and electrical assembly processes, including wire pulling and wire harness assembly. Ability to perform high-voltage electrical work safely and follow established safety practices. Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and to stand, bend, and twist throughout the shift. Comfort working in a warehouse or light manufacturing environment on agricultural-related products. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience using a multimeter for measuring voltage, continuity, and resistance. Exposure to resistance testing equipment for motor and VFD cable insulation testing. Familiarity with oscilloscopes for signal diagnostics in bench work environments. Experience using torque screwdrivers or torque wrenches to properly tighten terminal blocks and VFD lugs. Skill with precision screwdrivers for work on small electronics and control boards. Proficiency with crimping tools for ferrules, ring terminals, and spade terminals. Experience with adjustable gauge wire strippers, cable cutters for copper and aluminum, and cable benders. Ability to use calipers or micrometers for checking component spacing and panel layouts. Experience with conduit work and related tools. Familiarity with pneumatic screwdrivers, standard screwdrivers, and cutting tools for tasks such as cutting rubber hose. Experience n mechanical assembly or light mechanical work alongside electrical assembly. Experience working with wire harnesses and wire harness assembly in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morton, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
