8am to 4pm (some flexibility) PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire an Electrical Engineer supporting advanced Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) gas turbine control systems. This is a high-impact role where your expertise will directly contribute to the design, sustainment, and evolution of mission-critical electronic hardware used in next-generation aerospace platforms. Role Overview As an Electrical Engineer within the APU Control Systems organization, you will support the full lifecycle of Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and airborne electronic hardware—from design and integration through production support and sustaining engineering. You will collaborate across engineering disciplines to resolve complex technical issues, manage engineering changes, and ensure compliance with rigorous aerospace safety standards such as DO-254. Your work will directly influence system reliability, production efficiency, and the long-term performance of critical aerospace propulsion systems. Key Responsibilities Production & Factory Support Resolve production support issues and release Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) Provide technical justification for design and component changes Support project engineers in managing production support workload Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Component Engineering, Mechanical, Certification, Test Services, Configuration Management, and Data Management Design & Integration Review and maintain Approved Source Lists (ASL) and build-to-print documentation for supplier compliance Ensure alignment between product-level requirements and system/customer specifications Support integration of hardware into APU control system architectures Drive design updates related to obsolescence, product improvements, and lifecycle changes Communication & Component Management Serve as technical interface between suppliers, customers, and internal engineering teams Support schedule planning, supplier milestones, and program execution tracking Develop and maintain technical documentation including coordination memos, logs, and engineering communications Compliance & Safety Support DO-254 design assurance activities for airborne electronic hardware Contribute to nuclear hardening design assurance activities when required Ensure adherence to aerospace safety, quality, and configuration management standards Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Systems Engineering 2+ years of experience in aerospace electronic hardware or other safety-critical systems Hands-on experience with CCAs/PCBs (design, troubleshooting, or sustainment) Experience with circuit analysis and modeling tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB) Ability to interpret technical drawings and configuration-controlled documentation Experience supporting engineering changes or production release processes Strong technical communication skills with suppliers and cross-functional teams Experience writing engineering substantiation or change-justification documentation Must be a U.S. Person (as required for access to controlled technology) Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Systems Engineering Experience with DO-254 design assurance standards Familiarity with ECUs, sensors, actuators, or engine/APU control systems Experience managing component obsolescence Knowledge of DO-160 environmental testing standards Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers Exposure to radiation-tolerant or nuclear-hardened electronics Why This Opportunity Stands Out This role offers the opportunity to work on highly complex, safety-critical aerospace systems that power some of the most advanced aircraft in the world. Pay Details:
