Job Summary Middle Park High School is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate teacher to lead our Introduction to Electrical Systems course. This teacher will provide students with foundational knowledge of electricity, electronics, and electrical systems through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on lab experiences. The course includes instruction in AC and DC systems, electrical theory, safety practices, and real-world applications. Students will engage in designing and building circuits, reading schematics, troubleshooting electrical systems, and installing common electrical components. Instruction will integrate mathematics and physics concepts while emphasizing practical skills and problem-solving. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans aligned with state standards, preparing and delivering instruction, supervising hands-on lab activities, ensuring a safe learning environment, adapting instruction to meet individual learning needs, evaluating student performance, maintaining classroom and lab records, maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members, and participating in campus events. In addition, a qualified candidate should: Possess knowledge of electrical systems, electronics, and current instructional pedagogy Create a classroom and lab environment that is safe, structured, and conducive to learning Establish and communicate clear learning outcomes for lessons, labs, and projects Support the program of study using a variety of instructional techniques, tools, and technology Emphasize safe and responsible use of equipment, tools, and materials Serve as a model for the district's mission, vision, and goals Analyze and use appropriate data to guide instruction and develop assessments Qualifications Appropriate Colorado teaching license required; endorsement or experience in Career and Technical Education (CTE), Industrial Technology, Electronics, or related field preferred. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, along with strong organizational and time management skills, are necessary. Experience with hands-on technical instruction or industry experience is preferred. Working Environment Middle Park High School is located in Granby, Colorado, 90 miles northwest of Denver and 20 miles from the Winter Park ski area. School is in session Monday-Thursday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:18 p.m. following a 4 × 4 alternating block schedule. MPHS has approximately 350 students in grades 9-12 and serves the communities of Winter Park, Fraser, Tabernash, Granby, Grand Lake, Hot Sulphur Springs, and surrounding areas. Compensation Salary and benefits are based on the East Grand School District salary schedule and will be prorated to reflect the one semester, single-course (0.5 credit) assignment.
