Electrician

Job Summary:

Perform electrical troubleshooting installations and repairs. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities as assigned. These tasks are done to ensure that equipment and buildings are maintained to a high level of dependability. Daily supervision is required to assure that specific job assignments are completed in a safe and timely fashion. To ensure that work performed is a present skill level and abilities are present to advance to a higher craft level in the future.

Job Functions:

Must be supportive and involved in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5's, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes. Ability to clearly understand customer requirements and deliver result to meet or exceed customer expectations. Ability to work in a safe manner and assures co-workers work in a safe manner. Repairs, maintains, and installs wiring, motors, motor controls, PLC's, VFD's, and other electrical systems. Expert in electrical troubleshooting and provides technical support when troubleshooting. Ability to identify electrical problems and develop short- and long-term solutions. Provides technical support for IT team leader on projects and repairs. Demonstrate the ability to identify alternate sources for replacement electrical components based on price and availability to eliminate costly parts from OEM's. Application of NFPA guidelines, including publication 70 (National Electric Code) Ability to facilitate root cause analysis. Ability to work independently and in a team environment to complete all aspects of open work orders. Demonstrate the ability to use hand and power tools, as well as technical testing equipment consistent within the electrical field. Must understand OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) and display a sense of urgency to improve the mean time to repair. Responsible for compliance with all facility safety and quality policies and procedures including product safety and (GMPs)/Sanitation policies and procedures. Employee must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area to support AIB/5's and other company standards. Must be supportive of GPI's Mission, Vision, and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork). Performs all other duties as assigned. Requirements Proven experience as an electrician in industrial or commercial settings with hands-on experience. Strong knowledge of electrical systems including low voltage and high voltage applications. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams related to electrical installations. Familiarity with NEC standards, safety protocols, and local electrical codes. Ability to operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills and saws; as well as specialized testing equipment like ohmmeters and ammeters. Skilled in framing carpentry concepts relevant to electrical system integration within building structures. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues efficiently.
