Job Description

Electrician-Generator install Technician (4 day work week=3 day weekends!) 35 year established local electrical contracting company (specializing in standby generators) has immediate opening for experienced install technician. Duties may include, but are not limited to: Installing automatic standby generators (both residential and commercial). Installing automatic transfer switches, electrical services, and other electrical equipment. Cutting, threading, bending and installing electrical conduit (rigid, EMT, PVC). General electrical wiring for lights, switches, receptacles, and other electric equipment. Occasionally operating construction equipment, such as: trencher, Bobcat, backhoe, etc. Occasionally driving truck and trailer (w/ equipment) to & from local jobsites. Occasionally being on-call to handle customer emergency calls outside of scheduled work time. Assisting with propane, and natural gas installations, when necessary.
Qualifications:
Must have own hand tools and reliable transportation. Must have experience in the electrical and/or generator field. Must be able to properly install standby generators and be proficient with the NEC, and local codes. Be able to work in all types of environments, including: indoor, outdoor, and underground. Be proficient with basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (Word & Excel) Ipad operation, email, and text messaging. Have strong written and oral skills, communicate well with others (especially customers)-yet be able to work without supervision. Have a clean driving record. (DOT medical card and CDL is a plus) Be able to pass background check and submit to random drug and alcohol testing . Be willing to learn other skillsets and training. Be able to work under pressure, multitask, and meet job deadlines. Other skillsets (helpful, but not required) include: Troubleshooting/repairing generator systems (including electrical, engines and controls). Propane and Natural gas pipe fitting skills. HVAC troubleshooting/repair experience.
