Project Manager / Lead Engineer About the Role We are seeking a talented Electronics & Controls Technician to support the fabrication, assembly, and testing of animated figures . This role involves integrating electronic components, sensors, actuators, and control systems to bring characters and motion elements to life. The ideal candidate has a blend of electrical, mechanical, and controls experience and enjoys working in a creative, hands-on production environment. Key Responsibilities Assist in the fabrication and assembly of animated figures, including wiring, electronics installation, and control system integration. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot sensors, actuators, servo systems, and motion-control hardware. Work closely with designers, mechanical fabricators, and control engineers to ensure smooth functionality of dynamic figure movements. Build and test electronic assemblies, harnesses, and control panels; ensure proper routing and safe installation. Diagnose and repair control-system issues using test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and diagnostic software. Support the programming, testing, and fine-tuning of PLCs, microcontrollers, HMIs, and animation control systems. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and fabrication drawings. Maintain documentation, version control, and quality standards throughout the fabrication process. Follow all safety protocols and contribute to best practices in electrical and mechanical fabrication. Required Qualifications Associate degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Robotics, or related field (or equivalent experience) 2+ years of experience in electronics assembly, controls, robotics, animatronics, or related technical work Strong understanding of electrical and electronic fundamentals Experience with actuators, servo motors, and motion-control components Ability to fabricate and troubleshoot wiring harnesses and custom electronics assemblies Skilled in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Comfortable working in a fabrication environment with mechanical and electrical systems Preferred Qualifications Experience with animatronics, themed entertainment, robotics, or kinetic art Familiarity with PLCs, microcontrollers (Arduino, ESP, etc.), and motion-control systems Knowledge of DMX, CAN, Ethernet/IP, or other control/communication protocols Experience with pneumatic systems and electro-mechanical assemblies Understanding of safety codes and standards relevant to electrical and mechanical fabricationBenefits:
