Melissa Moore, People & Culture Associate Learn more: jti.com Electronic Technician Team Lead Purpose of the role The individual will be responsible for leading and coordinating a team of electronics technicians to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical and electronic equipment used in Make Pack production. The role ensures that all electrical maintenance activities are effectively planned, executed, and documented in line with JTI standards, IWS principles, MP&S requirements, and overall business objectives related to safety, equipment availability, quality, and cost.Areas of Responsibility:
Team Leadership & Accountability- Lead, coach, and develop a team of electronics technicians in line with JTI leadership behaviors
- Ensure clear task assignment, prioritization, and accountability for all electrical maintenance activities
- Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture, ensuring full compliance with EHS requirements, LOTO, and electrical safety standards
- Act as a role model for discipline, ownership, and standard adherence on the shop floor 2. Maintenance Execution & Reliability
- Ensure all electrical preventive and corrective maintenance tasks are executed on time or properly rescheduled and closed in maintenance systems
- Oversee troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and commissioning of electrical and electronic systems
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) of electrical failures and recurring issues
- Drive equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime through proactive maintenance actions 3. Planning, Scheduling & Resource Management
- Coordinate electrical maintenance activities in alignment with the production plan and maintenance schedule
- Optimize the use of internal resources and external support where required
- Identify electrical critical spare parts, define safety stock levels, and proactively manage spare parts availability to prevent equipment downtime
- Support maintenance planning activities during shutdowns, major repairs, and improvement projects 4. Standards, Systems & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to JTI internal standards, including IWS, Maintenance Standards, and MP&S
- Ensure proper execution of CIL, CL, PM, and standard maintenance routines related to electrical equipment
- Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and data quality in SAP and other maintenance systems
- Ensure standard work, procedures, and troubleshooting guides are available and followed
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, availability, and maintenance efficiency
- Analyze equipment losses and maintenance KPIs to identify improvement opportunities
- Implement corrective and preventive actions aligned with IWS methodologies
- Align electrical maintenance activities with business objectives related to efficiency, quality, cost, and sustainability 5. Training & Competency Development
- Assess technical competencies of electronics technicians and identify skill gaps
- Plan and coordinate training and qualification programs for electrical and electronic systems
- Ensure the team is capable of maintaining and troubleshooting tobacco‑specific production equipment
- Support knowledge sharing and continuous technical capability building within the team Who Are We Looking For
