- Identify and implement process improvement initiatives through root cause analysis, repair optimization, and manufacturing efficiency projects.
- Analyze turn times, work in process, non-conformance tags (NCTs), MRBs, process interruptions, and field reliability data to improve operational performance.
- Develop and refine minor and major aerospace component repairs in conjunction with OEMs, internal engineering teams, and outside service providers.
- Generate, maintain, and update repair process instructions, temporary overhaul data revisions (TODRs), matrix codes, and production routings.
- Review scrap and non-conforming components to identify opportunities for future repair development and cost savings.
- Execute MRB reviews, document NCTs, generate minor discrepancy reports (MDRs), and support departure record requests.
- Act as a technical liaison between business units and component remanufacturing services to resolve production and repair issues.
- Implement new repair processes and manufacturing improvements using project management methodologies and scheduled timelines.
- Support development facilities and production teams with consultation regarding new repairs, process improvements, and implementation strategies.
- Develop cost-benefit analyses, repair cost estimates, and project schedules for engineering initiatives.
- Support acquisition, installation, and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
- Troubleshoot, edit, and modify PLC programs to support manufacturing operations and equipment upgrades.
- Assist with troubleshooting electrical controls, ladder logic, variable frequency drives (VFDs), robotic systems, and HMI interfaces.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety standards, aerospace regulations, and quality requirements.
- Support additional manufacturing, process engineering, and continuous improvement activities as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor"s degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing or process engineering environments.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen for compliance purposes.
- Ability to troubleshoot, edit, and modify PLC programs.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
- Registration or professional designation may be required depending on jurisdictional regulations.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE
- Experience working with aerospace materials, repair processes, and manufacturing systems.
- Familiarity with electrical ladder diagrams, electrical control systems, and industrial troubleshooting.
- Experience specifying and troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
- Familiarity with ABB robotic systems, interfaces, and integration processes.
- Experience with Human-Machine Interface (HMI) software and industrial automation systems.
- Understanding of MRB processes, non-conformance documentation, and quality systems.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and root cause analysis techniques.
- Ability to support repair development, implementation projects, and process optimization initiatives.
- Experience preparing technical documentation, repair instructions, and engineering process updates.
