Clarificion from the agency Open to current members of the Army Nional Guard. Duties Help As an Electronics Mechanic , WG-2604-10 , you will: Repair, inspect, maintain, modify, overhaul and install a variety of avionics electronics equipment of modere complexity of design, construction, and function. Units worked on include components, assemblies, and subassemblies of UHF and VHF radio sets, VOR navigion radios, automic direction finder (ADF) navigion radios, AM and FM radio sets, radio marker beacons, intercommunicion sets, control consoles, speakers, stabilizion augmention systems(SAS), and similar electronic and navigion equipment. Equipment functions include transmission, reception, indicion, transformion, compution, mixing, amplificion, conversion, sweep and pulse generion, timing, and modulion. Diagnose equipment malfunctions and troubleshoots components, assemblies or subassemblies. Remove and replace defective or malfunctioning parts, including transistors, diodes, resistors, capacitors, and switches. Modify equipment in accordance with published Modificion Work Orders or Technical Bulletins. Troubleshoot aircraft wiring harnesses and connectors and repair by replacing wires, junction boxes, etc. Install equipment in the aircraft and completes operional tests. When designed on NGB Flying Stus Orders, serve as member of flight crew for the purpose of diagnosing and recording malfunctions, or otherwise determining maintenance and repair requirements. Guide lower level mechanics in the performance of duties. Conduct on-the-job training on assigned systems and reled support equipment and tasks to include classroom instruction as necessary. Process and account for due-in supply assets. Ensure th meriel and equipment are properly stored, protected and maintained and th funds are not obliged for meriel or parts without proper justificion. Prepare for and participe in various types of readiness evaluions such as Operional Readiness Evaluions (ORE), Command Logistics Readiness Inspections(CLRT-X), and Aviion Resource Management Surveys. May be required to perform additional duties such as structural fire fighting, aircraft handling, heavy equipment operion, and maintenance of facilities and equipment, or serve as a member of a team to cope with nural disasters or civil emergencies. This is an excepted service position th requires membership in a compible military assignment in the employing ste's Nional Guard, required prior to the effective de of placement. N General Experience :
Candide must possess experience or training which demonstres the applicants knowledge of electrical or electronic theory, knowledge of common testing procedures, skill in the use of hand tools of the electronics trade, and skill in reading schemics.
Specialized Experience :
Candide must have 18 months specialized experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions and applicion of theory of electronic systems or equipment. Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems. Experience in making mechanical repairs th required the use of precision measuring and calibring equipment. Experience in using complex test equipment such as deviion meters, complex special test panels, etc. Experience which demonstres the ability to interpret technical manuals, specificions, and publicions.
Physical Effort:
Physical effort involves lifting components and equipment, also working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Items lifted generally weigh up to 40 pounds. Assistance is usually available with heavier items. Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping is required.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed inside in well-lighted, heed and ventiled areas or on the aircraft in restricted places, where conditions of he or cold may occur. Occasionally works outside in inclement weher. Subject to injuries such as electrical shock, cuts and bruises, as well as burns caused by electrical or radio frequency energy, or by soldering irons. Works in high noise environment. Willingness to tend the Aviion Electronics Mechanic Course within six (6) months of hire de.
