Job Description

Position Overview LISA Academy Springdale is seeking a dedicated, student-centered School Counselor to join our K-5 team. As a counselor in our primary building, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive school culture, supporting students' social-emotional development, and providing academic guidance. This position is ideal for an educator who thrives in a collaborative, STEM-focused environment and is passionate about early childhood and elementary development.
Key Responsibilities Direct Student Support:
Deliver comprehensive school counseling programs that include classroom guidance lessons, small group counseling, and individual student planning. Social-Emotional Learning (SEL): Implement evidence-based SEL curriculum to help students develop skills in self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship skills.
Crisis Intervention:
Provide immediate support and intervention for students in crisis and assist with the development of safety plans.
Collaboration:
Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to address student needs and remove barriers to learning.
Consultation:
Serve as a resource for staff on student behavior, mental health concerns, and academic achievement.
Data-Driven Advocacy:
Utilize student data to identify trends and implement interventions that close achievement and opportunity gaps.
Requirements & Qualifications Education:
Master's Degree in School Counseling from an accredited institution.
Certification:
Valid Arkansas School Counselor license (K-12 or Elementary).
Experience:
Previous experience in a K-5 setting is preferred but not required.
Skills:
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills; ability to use data to inform practice; proficiency with educational technology.
