Must possess a valid Michigan Teacher Certificate and Michigan School Administrator Certificate. Master's Degree in Educational Administration Minimum of five (5) years of elementary teaching experience preferred Minimum of three (3) years of administrative experience in an elementary school is preferred Experience in district-wide committee leadership Impeccable work ethic, values and skill in creating a PLC school environment Possess an understanding of and an experience in leading a culture of learners Demonstrate a commitment to Clarenceville School District's vision, mission and strategic plan Evidence of active participation and leadership in professional organizations Demonstrated ability and interest in curriculum development and in working harmoniously with students, parents, teachers, and the school community Demonstrated ability as an educational leader through: Excellent communication skills Strong problem solving skills Ability to plan, organize, and execute the full-range of administrative tasks Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Responsible for and provides leadership and structure for the overall administration and day-to-day operations of an elementary school. Provides leadership in the establishment of a positive building climate for the staff, students, parents, and community. Responsible for and provides leadership in the planning, developing, implementation, and evaluation of district approved curriculum and instructional programs at an elementary school. Responsible for the effective evaluation and timely feedback of staff assigned to an elementary school. Responsible for the operation of the main office and counseling office. Provides leadership in managing school safety and security processes including crisis management procedures. Supervises athletic events, evening school functions, and attends school-related community events. Responsible for safety inspections and safety drill practice activities. Responsible for and supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance and works with the Engagement and Wellness Coordinator, as well as, the building counselor, social worker or student support coach for investigative follow-up actions. Responsible for maintaining discipline throughout the student body and deals with special cases as necessary. Provides leadership in establishing and enforcing the student handbook Skill in monitoring student achievement and assessment and leading data-driven decision making improvements, as needed A commitment to an active parent-school partnership to further the communities understanding of the educational program Serves with parent, faculty and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives. Provides leadership for staff professional development. Provides assistance in evaluating the condition of building, grounds, and equipment. Participates in and responsible for the implementation of district wide policies and programs. Provide leadership in the supervision of programs designed to foster the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of students (familiarity with the Restorative Practices using the RULER approach is preferred) Ability to recognize the need to build a staff that is representative of the ethnic culture of the building and community. Assist in the selection, retention, reassignment, and promotion of all building staff. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.Method of Application:
