  • 3:30 PM Position Overview Golden Plains Community School is seeking dedicated, Christ-centered educators to serve students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade .
Teachers at Golden Plains are called to provide rigorous, developmentally appropriate instruction while nurturing the whole child: academically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially. This role is ideal for educators who believe learning happens best through strong relationships, hands-on experiences, time in nature, and trauma-informed practices. Teachers will play a vital role in shaping a joyful, safe, and holistic learning environment for students and families in North Amarillo. Primary ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Curriculum Deliver high-quality, standards-aligned instruction using research-based instructional practices and Golden Plains' chosen curriculum. Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons that support diverse learners. Utilize student data to inform instruction, monitor progress, and adjust teaching strategies. Provide targeted support and differentiation to meet individual student needs. Willingness and ability to think outside of the box and implement creative strategies towards student's individualized learning Trauma-Informed & Holistic Care Create a classroom culture rooted in safety, consistency, compassion, and respect. Implement Golden Plain's trauma-informed classroom strategies and behavior supports. Participate in ongoing training related to trauma-informed care, mental health, and holistic practices. Outdoor & Experiential Learning Actively teach outdoors in Golden Plains' outdoor classroom and integrate nature-based learning into core instruction. Participate in regular field trips and the school's outdoor Prairie School program with excitement, enthusiasm, and creative ideas to contribute to the overall curriculum. Embrace hands-on, experiential learning that supports curiosity, movement, and exploration. Classroom Management Establish clear expectations and routines that promote positive behavior and student accountability. Follow Golden Plain's school wide behavior initiatives and PBIS plan Use proactive, restorative, and relational behavior management strategies. Partner with families, staff members, play therapists, counselors, tutors and school leadership to support student growth and well-being. Faith & Community Model Christ-like character and integrate Christian faith into daily classroom life. Support the spiritual development of students through prayer and faith-based practices. Affirm and sign the school's Statement of Faith. Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff. Maintain open, respectful communication with families. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school-wide events. Uphold the mission, values, and culture of Golden Plains Community School. Perform such other tasks and accept such other responsibilities as may be assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required (education or related field preferred). Texas teaching certificate and experience teaching PK-3rd grade or early elementary students preferred. Employees must maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record throughout the course of employment. Continued employment is subject to the ability to pass and maintain background check eligibility. Training in trauma-informed care or a demonstrated willingness to be trained. Strong instructional practices and classroom management skills. Data-informed mindset with the ability to use assessments to guide instruction. An active member of a Christian church that is in keeping with the school

  • 3:30 PM, Monday-Friday First Day on Contract
  • August 7th Last Day on Contract
