Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary School Teacher to join our team at Foundation Christian Academy. We are hiring for our 1st and 2nd grade classroom. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and will be responsible for educating students in various subjects, ensuring they develop essential literacy skills and social competencies. The ideal candidate will also be someone who is both emotionally and spiritually equipped to take on the role of working in a Christian School. This role requires creativity in curriculum development and the ability to manage diverse classroom behaviors effectively. Responsibilities Using the Abeka curriculum, develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with educational standards and cater to the diverse learning needs of students. Educate students in core subjects, focusing on literacy education, while integrating special education strategies for those who require additional support. Employ effective behavior management techniques to maintain a respectful and productive classroom and work environment. Provide early intervention strategies for students demonstrating learning difficulties or behavioral challenges. Maintain accurate records of student progress and grades via FACTS management and communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's development. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on educational best practices. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; teaching certification preferred. Experience working with students, particularly those with autism or other special needs, is highly desirable. Understand of the Bible and have a relationship with Jesus. Strong understanding of literacy education principles and effective teaching methodologies. Proven ability in behavior management strategies within a classroom setting. Experience in curriculum development and adapting lessons for various learning styles is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage students effectively. A passion for teaching young learners and fostering their academic growth in a supportive environment.
