Immediately Job Description The STEAM teacher helps educate, challenge, and inspire all learners to become contributing, responsible members of a global society
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Delivering STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) instruction to students in grades K-5 primarily via the Project Lead the Way Launch curriculum Using technology to promote learning, creativity and collaboration Incorporating grade level content standards with inquiry-based instructional methods Creating an engaging environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students in grades K-5 Using inquiry-based learning methods to teach students in a pull out model incorporating grade level content standards as a basis for instruction with a heavy emphasis in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) Employing a variety of instructional techniques which guide the learning process toward academic achievement and curriculum goals Establishing and communicating clear objectives for all lessons, curricular units, and projects Staying current with the latest developments in STEAM-related pedagogy and research Participating as a member of a Professional Learning Community Building and maintaining collaborative, effective working relationships with staff, administration, students, and parents through regular communication Embracing a fast paced and highly flexible/adaptable teaching environment Other duties as assigned Education and/or
Experience:
Required:
Valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate; elementary endorsements 3-5+ years of exemplary classroom teaching experience Knowledge of Michigan elementary content standards in the areas of science, technology, and mathematics Experience with STEAM related inquiry-based learning Technology or science endorsement preferred
