Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and work collaboratively with students, peers, and parents Evidence of skill in oral and written communication Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and District policies Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality Ability to maintain high ethical standards Ability to maintain accurate and complete records and forms Ability to work under pressure and deal with emergencies in a calm and effective manner Ability to organize ideas, time, and materials to accomplish goals Ability to recognize students' current abilities and teach to those abilities Ability to create student self-awareness for meeting state standardsEssential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
This list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary and without notice. Depending upon individual assignments, the teacher performs all or a combination of several of the following duties: Plan, implement, and evaluate classroom instruction and activity programs consistent with building and adopted district curriculum Diagnose and prescribe learning programs for individual and groups of students based on aptitude, interest and level of achievement Provide individual and small group instruction in order to adapt curriculum to the students with varying intellectual abilities, attitudes, and cultural backgrounds Ability to motivate, discipline, and interact with students in a productive manner Create and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for individual interests and learning styles of students and consistent with building/District policy Utilize district and state assessments and standards in developing curriculum Develop instruction goals and objectives to meet teaching assignment Provide appropriate preparation for state-mandated testing Prepare teaching materials and reports (e.g. grades, attendance, anecdotal records, etc.) for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and providing documentation of teacher and student progress through progress monitoring Evaluate each student's performance and growth in knowledge and understanding, and prepares progress reports Establish and maintain standards of student behavior required to provide an orderly and productive environment Instruct students in proper care and use of materials and organizes storage areas and controls use of materials to prevent loss or abuse Carry out the assignments designated by the building principal Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned Effectively utilize district technology appropriatelyState/District Mandated Requirements:
Valid First Aid/CPR/AED card or ability to attain one Fingerprinting (paid by employee) I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigration Reform Act HIV/HBV Training (district provided) Sexual Harassment Training (district provided)Terms of Employment:
