  • Mark Twain Medical Center is a 25-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in San Andreas, California.
Serving over 90,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including cancer care, emergency care, and orthopedics. Mark Twain Medical Center also includes four Family Medical Clinics offering exams, immunizations, and care for minor injuries. Additionally, Mark Twain Medical Center has been recognized as an LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality High Performer by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.

One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Staff Nurse, you will expertly apply the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to provide safe, therapeutic care for patients of all ages, aligning with our Mission and Core Values.

Every day you will provide total patient care, assist in managing care administered by other staff, and assume responsibility for your assignments, including relief charge nurse duties as needed.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of nursing principles, effectively collaborate with the healthcare team, and take accountability for patient outcomes. Evaluating patients presenting complaint at triage. Assessing and identifying actual or potential health problems. Communicating information to the physician about patient concerns/needs. Identifying needed nursing regimen; executing nursing regimen through the selection, performance, management and evaluation of nursing action. Assessing health status for the purpose of providing nursing care, providing health teaching and/or home care instructions. Providing care based on patient's and /or significant others age and level of growth and development. Administering medications, treatments and executing regimens prescribed by licensed physicians. Cares for patients of all ages, from neonates/infant through elderly. Recognizes the role and participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team working towards attaining mission, vision, and goal of meeting patients, significant other's physical, emotional and spiritual needs in a dignified manner. Is knowledgeable about how to protect self and hospital from bio/chemical contamination. Understands and complies with EMTALA requirements. Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other practitioners as required and adjust nursing care processes as indicated to unsure optimal patient care. Implements patient histories, assesses patient's conditions, and develops individualized care plans for assigned patients. Assess patient educational needs and barriers to learning to implement patient education and document teaching. Job Requirements Required Six (6) months or more of acute care experience Graduation from an accredited school of nursing California Registered Nurse (RN) license Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • American Heart Association Preferred Bachelors Of Science in Nursing (BSN) Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
