Job Description
About the Opportunity They are a large, established technology company headquartered in Virginia and they are looking for an experienced Employee Relations & Workplace Investigation Specialist to join our HR team. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned professional who is passionate about fostering a fair, respectful, and compliant workplace culture. What You Will Do As the subject matter expert for workplace investigations, you will lead end-to-end investigations into allegations of policy violations, misconduct, harassment, and discrimination, ensuring every case is handled with confidentiality, empathy, and fairness.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and managing workplace investigations, including interviewing involved parties, gathering and analyzing evidence, and documenting findings in a clear, objective manner Ensuring all investigations adhere to federal, state, and local employment laws and organizational policies, while assessing and escalating high-risk cases appropriately Preparing detailed investigation reports with findings and recommended actions, presenting outcomes to HR leadership and legal counsel as needed Developing and delivering training for managers and employees on investigation processes, workplace conduct, and compliance requirements Monitoring investigation trends to identify systemic issues and recommending policy updates and preventive measures Serving as a trusted advisor to HR and management teams on sensitive employee relations matters What We Are Looking For Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field 3 or more years of experience in employee relations or workplace investigations within a multi-state organization, with global experience preferred Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and compliance requirements Exceptional interviewing, analytical, and report-writing skills A high degree of discretion and the ability to handle sensitive matters with integrity and impartiality Proficiency in Workday HRMS preferred, along with the Microsoft Office Suite Analytical thinking, attention to detail, strong communication, ethical judgment, conflict resolution, time management, and a collaborative mindset.
