Endoscopy Nurse

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Endoscopy Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures by reviewing medical histories, explaining procedures, and ensuring informed consent is obtained. Assist physicians during endoscopic examinations such as colonoscopies, gastroscopies, and other minimally invasive procedures, maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Monitor patient vital signs, sedation levels, and overall condition throughout procedures, responding promptly to any changes or complications. Manage patient recovery post-procedure, including assessing recovery status, providing discharge instructions, and documenting all care activities accurately in electronic health records (EHR systems). Administer medications such as sedatives or analgesics under physician supervision while adhering to safety protocols. Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure care, including dietary restrictions, medication management, and follow-up appointments. Maintain equipment sterilization standards and ensure all endoscopy tools are properly cleaned and prepared for use. Requirements Valid nursing license with current registration in the relevant state or country. Proven experience in endoscopy nursing or related fields such as gastroenterology or surgical nursing. Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, infection control protocols, and patient assessment skills. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation. Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care. Experience with sedation administration, IV infusion, and monitoring sedation levels during procedures. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with physicians, technicians, and patients. Preferred qualifications include experience with cardiology procedures such as catheterization, familiarity with medical imaging like CT scans related to gastrointestinal assessments, and knowledge of ICD coding for documentation purposes. Additional experience in critical care environments such as ICU or emergency medicine is highly valued. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required to ensure preparedness for emergencies. Pay:

$30.50 - $32.00 per hour
