Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Engagement Manager is primarily responsible for volunteer recruitment, youth and mentor enrollment, training and retention. This individual is an experienced relationship builder with a nonprofit background; a volunteer coordinator; and a professional with demonstrated experience in areas of communication and community organization. This role involves ensuring high-level customer service and promoting a meaningful experience for all constituents.
Key responsibilities include:
Leadership:
  • Model the organization's values and competencies while contributing to agency planning and operations and actionable projects
  • Lead enrollment and matching, ensuring compliance with BBBS standards
  • Develop an agency-wide training curriculum and platform
  • Conduct team training and coaching in support of program engagement and retention
  • Utilize outstanding professional judgment and insight
  • Monitor child safety and youth outcomes
  • Support agency with data functions and provide relevant reports and dashboards
  • Develop, maintain, update and fully administer the Engage platform
  • Participate in local committees and working groups as assigned and appropriate and as applicable, identify, share and integrate learnings and recommendations into agency operations
Enrollment & Matching:
  • Manage standardized, documented protocols for all enrollment functions
  • Monitor enrollment pipeline and services while adapting to changing needs
  • Conduct enrollments and match introduction meetings
  • Recommend match selection processes in support of strong and appropriate match relationships Recruitment
  • Advance the agency's brand awareness and volunteer recruitment efforts with activities like but not limited to community presentation and networking opportunities
Match Support:
  • Act as primary support for match engagement activities
  • Help develop and execute ongoing training opportunities for volunteers and caretakers
  • Provide resources and encouragement to volunteers and caretakers by managing agency newsletters Successful candidates in this process will meet the following requirements 5+ years of experience in nonprofit, at-risk youth programs, and/or teaching, child and/or adult relationship dynamics, professional familiarity with child development, family function/dysfunction, trauma informed care, and interpersonal communication preferred.
Strong planning, assessment, decision making, exercising good judgment independently, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as a strong understanding non-verbal and body language skills. Ability to handle stressful situations and work in a fast-paced environment Relationship development experience and proven ability to form and sustain strong relationships with adults and children of all backgrounds and ages. Proven ability to work with confidential information. Ability to related well in multicultural environments, follow through/up in a timely manner, detail oriented when collecting data to draw solid conclusions, and demonstrated patience with a confident and calming presence. Bachelor's degree required with preference of degree in education, social work, social sciences, human resources, interpersonal communication or related field.
