Job Description

Engineering Manager Loadmaster is a national manufacturer of refuse bodies. We are currently looking for an Engineering Manager to oversee the design and production of refuse equipment from concept to production. This individual will be working with and leading a team which works with hydraulic and electrical systems in addition to designing the structure of a refuse truck. This position requires leadership, analytical thinking, organizational skills, and a range of engineering skills. This is a hands-on engineering leadership role requiring both strong technical design capability and team leadership experience. Essential Job Functions Oversee and assist in the creation of design and production documentation using Solid Works and AutoCAD for drawings and Word for specifications Lead the day-to-day operations of the engineering department while actively contributing to engineering and product development activities Track individual and departmental progress on projects Work with management to prioritize the work load Lead and develop the engineering team, which may include taking disciplinary action When not directly working with the engineering team on issues work on completing current projects Work with vendors for key component selection and documentation Prepare and implement test procedures necessary to validate the design and performance of the product Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology Strong leadership and problem-solving skills Experience using Solid Works, AutoCAD, or other drafting software Experience using finite element analysis software preferred Proficient with Microsoft Office products Written and verbal communication skills Ability to understand customer needs, identify root causes of problems, and implement sound solutions Exceptional organizational skills Knowledge of fabrication, welding, hydraulics, and/or electrical circuit design a plus Previous group or team leadership experience We offer a full benefits package which includes: Health Insurance Dental Vision 401k Paid Vacation Paid Holidays Disability Life Insurance
