Daily duties also include supporting daily manufacturing issues pertaining to engineering. Essential Functions 1. After APQP meeting contact customer to discuss part/casting requirements. 2. Coordinate customer part design with customer, designer, toolmaker, CWM personnel, and suppliers. 3. Oversee the design and construction of die cast dies, trim tools. 4. Work with production to resolve problems, improve processes, or perform studies. 5. Hold design review meetings to receive feedback from production personnel. 6. Coordinate sampling of tooling and submission of castings for first article inspection. 7. Resolve discrepancies of dimensional and cosmetic issues in order to receive approval of tooling. 8. Adheres to CWM's Cultural Pillars (Maintain a positive attitude; Show respect for others; Meet commitments; Maintain transparency; Cater to All equally. Additional Responsibilities 1. Assist as needed in special research and engineering projects. 2. Produce FDM models. 3. Conduct design reviews at potential customers. 4. Perform MAGMA analysis on die cast tools. 5. Assure toolmakers, designers, and production are provided with the latest revision database. 6. Coordinate engineering changes that are requested by the customer for the life of the project or until another project engineer is assigned. 7. Manage the methods and procedures used for tooling development. 8. Hold post review meetings in order to resolve any discrepancies before production. 9. Update project status on a weekly basis (or as requested by customer). 10. Keeps work area clean and free of safety hazards. 11. Coordinate any secondary processes as necessary. 12. Obtain trim die quotes. 13. Other duties as mutually agreed upon. Education, Experience and Competencies 1. Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or Industrial Technology required. 2. Project Management of tooling preferred. 3. Working knowledge of ISO and IATF requirements relative to Engineering functions preferred. 4. Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, practical and analytical skills are a must. 5. Understands safety policies, quality policy and environmental policies. 6. Competent in machine shop practice, reading tool and piece part drawings, GD&T, SPC, PPAP and MAGMA are all preferred. 7. Knowledge of Solidworks or a similar 3D cad package is a must.
