Job description Engineering Technician C Chantilly, VA Active TS/SCI with CI Poly Required Why This Role Stands Out Join a leading aerospace and defense technology environment supporting advanced photonics and precision systems Every other Friday off with a 9/80 work schedule Hands-on technical role with exposure to optical systems, precision assembly, and advanced lab environments Comprehensive training provided for photonics-specific skills Opportunity to work with cutting-edge optical and electronic technologies in secure facilities What You'll Be Doing Perform fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, and inspection of precision photonic and optical components Execute technical procedures using detailed engineering drawings and work instructions Work with machining tools, optical equipment, soldering systems, and precision lab instrumentation Support calibration, preventative maintenance, and equipment reliability activities Assist with optical fiber splicing, mechanical builds, photonic circuit assembly, and inspection processes Maintain clean, organized, and compliant lab environments Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to meet schedule, quality, and performance expectations What They're Looking For High School Diploma or equivalent with 6+ years of relevant technical experience, OR Associate degree with 2+ years of related experience Hands-on experience in assembly, machining, manufacturing, electronics, optics, or mechanical systems Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications Experience working with precision equipment and detailed procedures Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph required Strong attention to detail and technical aptitude Keywords total-station customer-intelligence-ci continuous-integration insurance-consulting-and-technology environment-health-and-safety-hsse ecology-environment photonics mechanical-enclosures-assembly training-certification education-training training-and-development testing-and-analysis laser-photonic maintenance-repair-and-operations-mro fiber-optics inspection-process crane-aerospace-electronics
