THE WORK

The Airframe Design Engineering organization is seeking a highly motivated individual with an engineering degree and related experience to fill the role of Airframe Design Engineer on the Marine Corps Systems platform. Typical tasks include the design of metallic and composite airframe structure. The selected candidate will be involved in developing basic data, preliminary design layouts, and detail design for new and revised parts, assemblies, and systems that make up helicopter fuselage primary and secondary structures. This involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Selected candidate will participate in development and presentation of design proposals, detail design, and support through the product lifecycle. Layouts and model-based defimnition data sets for release will be prepared using Dassault's 3DEXPERIENCE (CATIA V6/3Dx). Composite design will utilize the 3Dx Composite Design workbenches (CPD). Occasional travel may be required to support suppliers, customer meetings, and reviews, as well as aircraft build support and test. In this position, the design engineer will work with cross functional teams within the Sikorsky Engineering and Technology group, across multiple sites. Excellent communication skills are required to ensure the team effectively meets requirements and achieves milestones. The individual will actively engage in continuous quality improvement through root cause analysis and corrective action processes and the use of other Continuous Improvement (CI) tools. US citizenship required as most programs and projects assigned are ITAR restricted.

You are a creative, detail-oriented engineer with a strong foundation in airframe design and experience with metallic and composite structures. You are proficient with CATIA V5/V6 or similar CAD tools and bring strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. An engineering degree and relevant experience are required.
