Aerospace / Defense Manufacturing Position Overview A precision manufacturing company is seeking a Process Engineer to develop, improve, and sustain manufacturing processes supporting aerospace and defense components. This role will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain to improve process capability, support new product launches, reduce scrap and rework, and ensure manufacturing processes meet customer and industry requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong manufacturing background with experience in process development, NPI, PFMEAs, control plans, GD&T, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for new and existing products. Create and maintain process documentation including work instructions, routers, PFMEAs, and control plans. Support new product introduction (NPI), process validation, and First Article Inspection activities. Troubleshoot manufacturing issues on the shop floor and implement corrective actions. Analyze process performance to improve efficiency, quality, throughput, and cost. Improve process capability using Cp/Cpk and other manufacturing metrics. Partner with Quality, Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain on manufacturability and product flow. Standardize manufacturing best practices across machines, cells, and product families. Support tooling, fixtures, capacity planning, and manufacturing-readiness activities. Ensure processes meet applicable aerospace, defense, customer, and regulatory requirements. Support internal and external audits as needed. Drive Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. 3+ years of process engineering or manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong experience developing and maintaining manufacturing process documentation. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T. Experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes and performing root cause analysis. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills. U.S. citizenship is required .
