Senior Engineer - Flight Test Pilot

Summary:

Engineer - Flight Test Pilot responsible for executing flight test programs, serving as pilot-in-command for experimental operations, and producing flight test data and compliance documentation for product development and certification. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field Significant prior flight test experience as a Test Pilot or Flight Test Engineer Commercial Pilot's License with Multi-engine and Instrument ratings Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 23 regulations Ability to produce formal and informal flight test reports Knowledge of flight test operations, certification processes, and safety requirements Preferred Skills Experience supporting product development and certification flight testing Experience creating, revising, reviewing, and approving technical and compliance documentation subject to ODA Experience with flight test hazard analysis and mitigation planning Experience serving in a flight test safety or safety management role Job Responsibilities Act as pilot-in-command for experimental test operations aircraft during flight test activities related to product development and certification Execute flight test projects to obtain accurate, high-quality flight test data Coordinate project-specific flight and ground crew logistics, including pre-flight briefings, post-flight briefings, duty day restrictions, travel, transportation, and hazard mitigation requirements Create, revise, review, and approve technical and compliance documents subject to ODA requirements Participate in the safety management system, including serving as Flight Test Safety Officer Serve as the experimental flight test subject matter expert for cross-functional departments Complete required initial and recurrent safety training
