Job Description

Title:
Propulsion Engineer Program Summary:
KBR is seeking a highly experienced Propulsion Engineer to provide advanced engineering support for C-130J and C-130H propulsion and propeller systems, including the T56-A-15, AE2100D3, 54H60, NP2000, and R391 propeller assemblies. This role supports Air Force and international mobility customers by delivering propulsion performance analysis, fleet sustainment engineering, and airworthiness evaluations for legacy and modernized C-130 platforms.
Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed propulsion system modeling, performance analysis, and mission-profile assessments for T56 and
AE2100D3
engines Evaluate propeller system performance, vibration characteristics, and operational reliability for 54H60, NP2000, and R391 propeller systems Support engine/propeller integration, flight test planning, and propulsion-related airworthiness reviews Analyze engine health monitoring data, exceedance events, and maintenance trends to identify reliability drivers Lead root-cause investigations for propulsion and propeller discrepancies, including blade failures, gearbox issues, and control-system anomalies Develop engineering recommendations for system upgrades, modifications, and sustainment improvements Prepare propulsion engineering reports, technical briefings, and engineering change proposals for government and OEM stakeholders Collaborate with depot facilities, OEM engineering teams, and Air Force program offices to support fleet readiness
Required:
Master's degree in aerospace, Mechanical, or related Engineering Experience with
C-130J/H
propulsion and propeller systems, including T56, AE2100, 54H60, NP2000, and R391 Familiarity with engine performance tools, vibration analysis, and propeller control systems (EPCS, DECU, FADEC) AFLCMC experience in Program Office Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
