An Aerospace Engineer designs aircraft, missiles, and spacecraft using knowledge of engineering and physics, and tests prototypes to see if they work according to design. May specialize in aeronautical design and work with airplanes and helicopters, or specialize in astronautical design and work with vehicles used in outer space. Position Purpose Guide the design and development of new and derivative interior furnishings and amenities for our client, a leading business aviation aircraft manufacturer, supporting outfitting of new, custom, and in-service aircraft. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Design custom cabinetry: galleys, lavatories, vanities, closets, storage compartments Design interior peripheries: cabin liners, window panels, passenger service units (PSUs), dado panels, side ledges Design miscellaneous systems: water/waste, oxygen, seating Build models and prints demonstrating complete understanding of construction methodologies for component parts and assemblies to end-item level Design installations and necessary airframe modifications to meet load requirements; apply Weight and Center of Gravity Analysis Create drawings/models in

interconnected with SmarTeam Liaise with Operations, Suppliers, Procurement, Quality, and other departments on design and validation through prototyping and reliability testing Perform assembly/installation, similarity, mounting, and functionality analysis for each configuration Apply design standards consistent with manufacturing, quality, and schedule requirements Make technical decisions and provide recommendations; act independently to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule Experience and Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required (or equivalent combination of education and experience) 10+ years in specific technical discipline, or 15+ years broad engineering experience across disciplines Advanced degree credit: up to 2 years for Master's, 4 years for PhD Advanced degree preferred Experience with Part 25 aircraft; familiarity with Part 135 requirements a plus Experience with primary and secondary structures preferred but not essential Understanding of full product development process from concept through production and sustaining
