This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and tracking all validation testing activities required for electrified propulsion system development and CAE modeling in support of production vehicle programs. The Test Planner serves as the central point of contact between propulsion system engineers, vehicle program managers, and test resource teams to ensure timely and efficient execution of validation plans. The role encompasses both virtual simulation and physical testing to deliver robust, system-level validation of electrified propulsion technologies. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Propulsion System Strat & Planning (PSSP).
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Systems Engineering & Validation Planning Develop and manage the Electrified Propulsion Validation Plan, integrating requirements across subsystems (ICE, battery, e-motor, inverter, charging, thermal management, controls). Plan validation activities across virtual simulation environments and physical test phases, ensuring consistency and traceability. Virtual & Physical Simulation Planning Define and coordinate virtual simulation and design activities for body/NVH/chassis at each build phase. Ensure early-phase validation through simulation to reduce risk in later physical builds. Integrate simulation outcomes into the overall validation plan and communicate findings to engineering teams. Program Integration Work closely with vehicle program managers to align test timing with overall program schedules. Align simulation results with physical test requirements to optimize resource usage and reduce rework. Track progress against program deliverables and escalate risks to leadership when necessary. Ensure validation activities support system-level development milestones. Resource Management Define, optimize and manage the build of test vehicles Utilize planning tools (e.g., Microsoft Project) to manage resource loading and optimize test engineer assignments. Balance competing demands across multiple programs, test facilities, and simulation environments. Issue Resolution & Risk Mitigation Identify and resolve technical and logistical roadblocks to ensure testing completion. Partner with engineers and program managers to assess risks, propose mitigation strategies, and adjust schedules as needed. Progress Tracking & Reporting Lead collection and synthesis of validation progress data across propulsion subsystems. Provide regular status updates to Sr. Leadership on a weekly basis. Prepare clear, concise reports on test progress, resource utilization, and risk assessments.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE B.S.
