• The Staff Instrument & Controls (I&C) Engineer will work on design teams to create world class designs for grassroots and revamp/brown field aviation and federal projects.

The Staff I&C Engineer will work with the design team throughout the Engineering/Design, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) process, adapting I&C plans according to assigned budget, schedule, engineering/design standards, and client requirements. The Staff I&C Engineer will assist in providing deliverables for Front End Planning (FEP) and Detailed Design phases and support construction phase.

+ Ensure compliance with company, client, and site safety policies.

+ Lead I&C engineering activities across all project phases, including project planning, detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning, for both EPC and Design-Bid-Build projects.

+ Interface directly with clients to define requirements, scope, and design expectations.

+ Present technical solutions, studies, and design packages.

+ Prepare instrumentation engineering/design deliverables, including Instrument Index, Instrument Data Sheets, Instrument Installation Details, Instrument Location Plans, Wiring Diagrams, and Loop Diagrams.

+ Led the design and development of process control systems (DCS, PLC, or BAS).

+ Prepare controls design deliverables, including I/O list, Process Control Narratives, Graphic Sketches, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Alarm Rationalization, and manage third party control system suppliers to comply with the control system design requirements, including participating in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).

+ Prepare I&C purchase specifications, review bids, make technical recommendations and manage the overall purchase, review of I&C packages, and review of vendor documentation.

+ Support and coordinate the development of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) in collaboration with process and mechanical engineering teams.

+ Participate in process safety activities, including Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies and design reviews, and incorporate findings into control system design.

+ Specify process instrumentation such as temperature, pressure, flow, level, analyzers, notification devices, and control valves. Utilize knowledge of various technologies for selecting appropriate I&C application.

+ Perform preliminary sizing calculations for instruments such as orifice plates, controls valves, relief valves, and thermowells.

+ Develop level sketches in conjunction with multiple departments.

+ Responsible for applying knowledge of commonly used I&C engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the engineering services industry.

+ Provide leadership and guidance for less experienced engineers.

+ Responsible for compliance with company and project site safety policies.

+ All other duties as assigned.

• Qualifications
• + Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.

+ Master of Science degree in above Engineering programs or related may be substituted for 1 year experience. + 3 years of applicable engineering experience, consulting preferred.

+ Demonstrate mastery of standard engineering techniques and procedures. Strong knowledge of electrical equipment design ANSI, NFPA, ISA, and IEEE Standards.

+ Successful completion (i.e. passing) FE or EIT. Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.

+ Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.

+ Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.

+ Strong computer skills (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite).

+ Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.

+ Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance. This job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and on an ongoing basis until filled. EEO/Disabled/Veterans
