Job Description
Leidos is seeking a motivated, detailed-oriented problem-solver to join our modeling and simulation team as an Aerospace Modeling and Simulation Engineer in Dayton, OH. You will play a valuable part in developing and testing models of aerospace systems, to include air-launched weapons; ballistic missile systems; avionics; hypersonic vehicles; and guidance, navigation, and controls across a wide range of projects and programs. Primary Responsibilities Develop, integrate, and test models of aerospace systems based on provided information, research, and engineering principles. Document model performance against requirements. Document algorithm design. Work collaboratively with an engineering team comprised of internal and external team members. Interact with external stakeholders to define requirements and perform model demonstrations.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university Candidate must have 2+ years' experience Experience with 3DOF/6DOF flight models Experience in MATLAB/Simulink Experience with system level requirements Detailed understanding of the systems engineering process Demonstrates solid understanding and intuition of the functionality and interdependency of aerospace systems Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders Organizational skills to document work and interface with team members to ensure flow of information Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess a Secret Clearance and meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a TS/SCI Clearance. Candidate must be local to or willing to relocate to the Dayton, OH area.Preferred Qualifications:
