Aviation Voice Systems Location:
Columbia, MD Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, testing, and delivery of mission-critical aviation voice and communications systems. This position requires a strong background in systems engineering, including system, hardware, and software requirements development and management. The ideal candidate will have experience working with mission-critical systems, Air Traffic Management (ATM) environments, network infrastructure, telecommunications, and/or radio-telephone communication systems. This is a highly collaborative and customer-facing engineering position that will work closely with internal engineering teams, customers, and external partners on requirements development, system testing, technical troubleshooting, and customer acceptance activities. Key Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and manage system engineering documentation covering system, hardware, and software requirements.
- Manage requirements configuration, traceability, versioning, and change control.
- Maintain and update Verification Requirements Traceability Matrices (VRTMs) and associated requirements traceability.
- Perform system requirements decomposition and requirements management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support system testing and develop verification strategies based on customer requirements, product requirements, hardware/software requirements, and use-case scenarios.
- Review test plans, procedures, and scripts to ensure requirements compliance and appropriate test coverage.
- Support the investigation, disposition, and prioritization of defects and unexpected anomalies identified during testing.
- Participate in customer acceptance testing and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Interface directly with customers and partners to discuss system-level requirements, site-specific requirements, testing, and other technical matters.
- Communicate technical issues, project status, and engineering requirements to Engineering Management, Systems Engineering teams, and customer stakeholders. Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of test-related engineering experience, including hands-on hardware testing.
- Experience with systems engineering, requirements development, requirements management, or system-level testing.
- Familiarity with Air Traffic Management (ATM), radio control equipment, VoIP systems, and/or advanced networking.
- Experience working with telecommunications systems and technologies such as VoIP, T1, ISDN, POTS, and TDM.
- Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop clear and concise system specifications and engineering documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical customers and engineering teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications

- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
