Citizen, National, or Green Card Holder We are seeking an experienced Systems / Software Technical Lead (overseeing a team of 4-5) for a project at our client to lead the development of embedded flight software and software systems engineering activities for advanced aerospace programs. This role is highly technical and hands-on, combining software architecture, embedded development, systems engineering, team leadership, and Agile execution. The ideal candidate has a strong background in embedded software development within aerospace, medical devices, robotics, automotive, or other high-reliability systems environments, along with experience leading small engineering teams through the full software development lifecycle. This position will serve as the software lead for a program, overseeing architecture, requirements, development, testing, and coordination across software and firmware teams. Required Qualifications 7-10+ years of embedded software development experience Minimum 2+ years leading small technical teams or acting as a technical lead Strong experience with: Embedded systems development Real-time software Software architecture and design Software testing and verification Hands-on experience throughout the software engineering lifecycle Strong communication and leadership skills Experience managing tasks and development workflows in Agile environments Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline Key Responsibilities Lead embedded software development efforts for aerospace and flight-related systems Serve as the software technical lead for assigned programs Define software architecture, requirements, and design approaches Participate directly in hands-on software development and debugging Lead Agile software development activities including: Daily standups Sprint planning Jira task management Sprint execution and tracking Coordinate software engineering lifecycle activities including: Requirements development System and software design Test planning and execution Verification and validation Present technical progress and deliverables during customer and internal reviews, including: Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) Critical Design Reviews (CDR) Collaborate with firmware, FPGA, and multidisciplinary engineering teams Mentor and guide small software development teams Ensure technical rigor, quality standards, and successful program execution Other Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred technical experience includes; flight software, command and data handling systems, guidance and control software, payload software, FPGA/software integration, microcontroller-based systems.
  • Experience developing embedded software for Aerospace or Flight Systems (or medical devices, robotics, automotive systems, other high-reliability embedded platforms)
  • Preferred programming experience; C, C++, Python
  • Experience with: Jira, Agile/Scrum methodologies, requirements-driven development, embedded Linux or RTOS environments This role supports a team dedicated to the goal of developing high-reliability spacecraft electronics at affordable costs and on aggressive schedules.

Salary Range:
$165,000
  • $200,000 annually H10 provides eligible employees (those who are scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week) with a range of benefits including medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, PTO, and a 401k plan.
Physical Demands Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
