About the Role Crash Engineer, LLC is seeking an entry-level Biomechanical Engineer to join our accident reconstruction and forensic consulting team in San Antonio, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer who wants hands-on experience analyzing real-world vehicle collisions, injury mechanisms, and human biomechanics. You will work alongside experienced reconstructionists and biomechanical experts while developing the technical and communication skills needed for a successful career in forensic engineering. What You Will Do Assist senior engineers with accident reconstruction of passenger vehicles, commercial trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, and pedestrian incidents Review police reports, photographs, medical records, witness statements, and vehicle data to support case analysis Help document accident scenes and vehicles using photographs, measurements, and basic photogrammetry or scanning tools Support biomechanical analyses of occupant kinematics, injury mechanisms, and force estimates under guidance Learn and apply reconstruction software (such as PC-Crash or similar) and crash data retrieval (CDR) tools Prepare diagrams, calculations, and draft sections of technical reports Maintain organized case files and assist with literature research on injury tolerance and biomechanics Participate in training, continuing education, and team case reviews Required Qualifications (Entry-Level Friendly) Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field from an ABET-accredited program Strong foundation in physics, statics/dynamics, and human anatomy or biomechanics coursework Excellent written and verbal communication skills — ability to explain technical concepts clearly Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Willingness to learn reconstruction methods, software, and field inspection techniques Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally within the San Antonio area for scene/vehicle inspections Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or extended hours when case deadlines require it Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have) Internship, co-op, research, or senior project experience related to biomechanics, vehicle dynamics, injury analysis, or accident investigation Coursework or exposure to accident reconstruction, forensic engineering, or human factors Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, CAD (SolidWorks), or basic simulation software Interest in pursuing ACTAR certification or Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure in the future Prior exposure to crash testing, anthropomorphic test devices (ATDs), or injury criteria literature What We Offer Structured mentoring and on-the-job training from experienced reconstruction engineers Clear path for professional growth toward senior reconstruction and expert roles Competitive salary and benefits package [customize: health, dental, 401(k), PTO, etc.] Support for continuing education, reconstruction courses, and professional certifications Collaborative team environment focused on scientific integrity and high-quality work product How to Apply Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter explaining your interest in accident reconstruction and biomechanics.
