EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT

bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience). Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:Biomedical Engineer, I:
Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master's (or equivalency) degree. Preferences Master of Science in biomedical engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline. Formal training in medical device design controls. Experience performing risk management to ISO 14971, including hazard identification, risk analysis and verification of risk controls. Experience building and maintaining a Design History File, or an equivalent controlled design record. Hands-on experience prototyping and bench testing laboratory instrumentation. Experience supporting day to day operations of a research laboratory. Clear technical writing, demonstrated through reports, protocols or standard operating procedures.
