Job Description
Description We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter to support the design and documentation of underground natural gas piping systems. This role will focus on creating, updating, and maintaining accurate technical drawings used for construction, maintenance, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has experience in utility drafting, specifically with subsurface or pipeline infrastructure, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. Key Responsibilities + Create and revise CAD drawings for underground gas pipeline systems, including mains, services, and associated infrastructure + Interpret field data, engineering markups, and survey information to produce accurate as-built drawings + Update and maintain existing utility maps and records within CAD and/or GIS systems + Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field teams to ensure design accuracy and completeness + Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, company specifications, and safety regulations + Perform quality checks on drawings before submission + Assist with redline updates and revisions based on field changes or engineering feedback Requirements Required Qualifications + 2+ years of experience in CAD drafting (AutoCAD required) + Experience drafting underground utilities, pipelines, or civil infrastructure + Strong understanding of utility layouts, easements, and right-of-way drawings + Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, surveys, and construction documents + Proficiency with AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred but not required) + High attention to detail and accuracy + Strong organizational and time management skills Preferred Qualifications + Experience working with gas utilities or pipeline systems (highly preferred) + Exposure to GIS systems or mapping tools + Knowledge of industry standards for utility design and documentation + Experience working with as-built drawings and record maintenance Work Environment + Onsite role based in Tucson, AZ + 4-day work week (Tuesday - Friday, 10-hour shifts) + Collaborative team environment supporting utility infrastructure projects Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
