We are looking for an experienced Plasma Table Technician / CAD Programmer who takes pride in producing high-quality work, operates with integrity, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is not an entry-level position. We are seeking someone who can work independently, solve problems, maintain accountability, and consistently produce accurate parts with minimal supervision. Position Summary The Plasma Table Technician is responsible for designing, programming, nesting, and operating CNC plasma cutting equipment to produce precision metal components for fabrication and production. This role requires strong CAD skills, attention to detail, and ownership of the entire cutting process—from receiving drawings to delivering accurate parts ready for fabrication. Responsibilities Create, modify, and optimize part drawings using SolidWorks. Program CNC plasma cuts using FlashCut software. Generate efficient nesting layouts to maximize material utilization. Operate and maintain CNC plasma cutting equipment. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication prints. Verify dimensions and ensure all parts meet specifications before releasing them to production. Perform routine quality inspections using measuring tools. Coordinate with production, fabrication, and engineering teams to prioritize work. Maintain an organized work area and properly identify completed parts. Troubleshoot programming or machine issues as they arise. Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment. Assist in continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and reduce waste. Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment. Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience operating CNC plasma cutting equipment in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Strong proficiency in SolidWorks . Experience programming with FlashCut CNC software. Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints. Experience creating CAD drawings from sketches or existing components. Knowledge of metal fabrication processes. Understanding of machining tolerances and precision measurement. Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines. Strong computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing workflows. Preferred Qualifications Experience in truck equipment manufacturing, vehicle upfitting, or metal fabrication. Welding or fabrication experience. Familiarity with ERP or production management software. Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification). Lean Manufacturing or 5S experience.
