Job Description

Title CAD Designer - Eyewear Product Development Location Onsite Manufacturing & Product Development Environment Eyewear Design and Manufacturing Facility Overview This opportunity is with a luxury consumer products manufacturer specializing in highly detailed product design, development, and production. The CAD Designer will support the full product development lifecycle by creating 3D models, manufacturing documentation, tooling designs, and quality control deliverables that bridge product engineering and serial manufacturing operations. Must-Have Domains Product Development & Manufacturing CAD Modeling & Technical Documentation Tooling Design & Design for Manufacturability Core Responsibilities Develop detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing components. Create 2D engineering drawings, manufacturing documentation, and quality control packages. Support new product introduction efforts from design release through production implementation. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, CAM, process development, and quality teams to optimize product and process designs. Inspect physical components against CAD models, document deviations, and support corrective actions and process improvements. Must-Have Experience 4+ years of 3D CAD modeling experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience designing tooling, fixtures, complex assemblies, and moving mechanical components. Experience creating manufacturing documentation including BOMs, assembly drawings, schedules, and related technical deliverables. Top 5 Must-Have Technical Skills 3D CAD Modeling and Mechanical Design Technical Drawing and Documentation Development Tooling and Fixture Design Design for Manufacturability (DFM) BOM Creation and Manufacturing Documentation Preferred Skills Experience with Rhino 7 or similar 3D CAD platforms. Knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling, and manufacturing methods. Familiarity with rapid prototyping and 3D printing technologies. Experience working with product lifecycle or data management systems. Understanding of material properties including precious metals, plastics, wood, aluminum, and tool steels. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience participating in collaborative product development and brainstorming sessions. Work Environment Fast-paced product development and manufacturing environment. Frequent collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams. Requires strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation control. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Independent problem-solving while working within a highly collaborative team structure.
