Job Description

Job Summary Seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Drafting Engineer . This role will be crucial in translating conceptual designs and specifications from engineers and production and maintenance superintendents into precise, detailed technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Your accuracy and technical expertise will ensure projects move smoothly from design to construction.
Duties Create and Modify Technical Drawings:
Produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings, blueprints, and schematics using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks). Collaborate with
Stakeholders:
Work closely with engineers and production and maintenance superintendents to understand project requirements, incorporate feedback, and ensure designs are accurate and meet all specifications.
Review and Interpret Specifications:
Analyze sketches, specifications, and engineering data to determine the best approach for technical drawings, including dimensions, materials, and procedures.
Ensure Compliance:
Verify that all drawings comply with company guidelines.
Maintain Documentation:
Organize and maintain drawing databases, ensuring effective version control and easy retrieval of project documentation.
Problem-Solving:
Identify potential design or operational issues and collaborate with the engineering team to find solutions and redesign products for improved functionality.
Material Calculation:
Calculate material dimensions, weight limitations, and material requirements as specified in the plans.
Technical Support:
Provide technical support and insight during the manufacturing or construction phases of a project.
Requirements Education:
An associate degree or technical diploma in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks). Attention to
Detail:
Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in all technical drawings and documentation.
Technical Knowledge:
A strong understanding of engineering principles, technical drawing standards, and construction processes.
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and document design processes.
Math Skills:
Solid mathematical skills, including geometry and trigonometry, for calculations related to dimensions, angles, and material requirements.
Time Management:
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Pay:
$69,550.00 - $104,320.00 per year
