Mechanical Designer Job Description:
There is presently a need for highly-motivated Mechanical Designers with the ability to produce design deliverables from design sketches, layouts and/or concepts to support manufacture, assembly and test. We are looking for candidates with the desire to develop skills through on-the-job experience and continued education to advance in the design profession.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma/GED or Vocational High School diploma 6+ years of design experience Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.drawings Demonstrated proficiency in drafting (portfolio) with Computer Aided Design (CAD) is required (NX preferred)
Preferred:
Two year Technical School/College Experience with CATIA and/or NX Experience in Design for
Six Sigma, Lean Design/Manufacturing Skills:
Must be willing to work in a collaborative and team environment. Must possess strong attention to detail and problem solving skills. Must possess strong computer skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Microsoft products Ability to perform design related math functions Ability to read and interpret written instructions and drawings (blueprints) Firm understanding of Design Standards, Manufacturing Processes and Military Specifications including GD&T
