Mozaik Cabinet Designer & Production Draftsperson Atlas Fine Furnishings is seeking an experienced Mozaik Cabinet Designer and Production Draftsperson to join our team onsite in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This is an onsite position in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It is not a fully remote position. This is not a general architectural drafting position. We need someone who understands cabinetry and millwork production—not simply someone who knows how to draw in CAD. Your primary responsibility will be to take architectural blueprints, field dimensions and design concepts and convert them into accurate, buildable shop drawings and complete production information that our fabricators can confidently use on the shop floor. Expert Mozaik Experience Is Required You must be able to independently: Read and interpret architectural blueprints, elevations and specifications Design kitchens, closets, vanities, built-ins and custom cabinetry in Mozaik Create accurate cabinet layouts, elevations and construction details Produce clear shop drawings, assembly drawings and installation details Generate cutlists, part information and complete production documentation Understand cabinet construction and the proper sequence of fabrication and assembly Determine which components must be veneered, laminated or finished before assembly and which surfaces must be completed afterward Account for hardware, clearances, reveals, fillers, finished ends and installation requirements Identify missing dimensions, design conflicts and construction problems before materials reach the shop floor Communicate clearly with fabricators, installers and project managers Understand how custom cabinetry is fabricated, assembled and installed Please do not apply based solely on experience with other CAD or general drafting programs. Advanced, hands-on Mozaik experience is a minimum requirement for this position. Our Primary Software Our daily design and production workflow primarily uses: Mozaik SketchUp VCarve ProMob For certain specialty projects, we also use: Adobe Illustrator Fusion 360 Experience with SketchUp, VCarve and ProMob is highly desirable, but none of these programs replaces the requirement for strong Mozaik experience. What You Will Design The majority of this position supports Atlas Fine Furnishings, our high-end custom cabinetry, furniture and architectural millwork company.

Custom kitchens Closets and storage systems Vanities Wall units and built-ins Entertainment centers Bars and reception desks Retail fixtures and commercial interiors Custom furniture Architectural millwork One-of-a-kind residential and commercial installations Everything we produce is custom. This is not flat-pack, prefabricated or repetitive production-line cabinetry. Many of our projects go well beyond standard cabinet boxes and require creative problem-solving, careful planning and custom construction details. Atlas shares its facility with Dragonfly Designs Studio, our specialty art and fabrication company. On occasion, you may also help design signage, illuminated features, sculptural pieces, wall art, live-edge furniture and other unusual projects involving wood, metal, acrylic, plastics, epoxy, glass, mirror, stone and LED lighting. The Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate combines strong digital design skills with a real understanding of fabrication. We would especially like to find someone who also has hands-on experience building cabinetry, furniture or architectural millwork. A designer who understands how parts are cut, edged, laminated, veneered, assembled, finished and installed will produce better drawings and communicate more effectively with the people building the project.

The strongest candidate will have:

Expert-level Mozaik experience Professional cabinetry and millwork design experience Strong blueprint-reading and dimensional skills Thorough knowledge of cabinet construction methods and hardware Experience producing shop and production drawings for actual fabrication A clear understanding of fabrication and assembly sequencing Excellent attention to detail and accuracy The ability to work independently and resolve design or construction conflicts Strong communication skills with fabricators, installers and project managers Experience with CNC production, nesting and cutlists Experience with SketchUp, VCarve or ProMob Hands-on cabinetmaking, furniture-building or millwork experience This is a creative, fast-moving environment where projects regularly change.
