Shop Drawing / AutoCAD Drafter Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Shop Drawing / AutoCAD Drafter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating accurate shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation plans using AutoCAD. This role requires close collaboration with project managers, engineers, production staff, and field personnel to ensure drawings meet project specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD. Interpret architectural, structural, and engineering plans and specifications. Revise drawings based on client comments, field measurements, and project changes. Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and production teams to ensure drawing accuracy and constructability. Maintain organized drawing files and project documentation. Verify dimensions, materials, and fabrication details before production. Ensure drawings comply with company standards, building codes, and customer requirements. Assist with material takeoffs and project documentation as needed. Communicate with customers, vendors, and field personnel regarding drawing revisions and technical questions. Qualifications Proficiency in AutoCAD required (at least 1 year) Experience creating shop drawings in construction, manufacturing, architectural metals, millwork, glazing, or a related industry preferred. Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Preferred Skills Knowledge of fabrication and construction processes. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with Bluebeam, Autodesk products, or other drafting software is a plus.
