Job Description

SAL Aerospace Technologies is looking for an experienced SolidWorks Designer with strong mechanical design and manufacturing knowledge. We are NOT looking for a basic CAD operator. We need someone who can take a concept, sketch, existing component, or physical sample and develop it into a complete 3D model and production-ready engineering drawing.
Required Skills:
  • Advanced SolidWorks 3D modeling
  • Parts and complex assemblies
  • 2D manufacturing/engineering drawings
  • GD&T, tolerances, fits and clearances
  • Reverse engineering from existing components
  • Sheet metal, weldments and surface modeling
  • Tooling, fixtures and mechanical equipment design
  • BOMs, exploded views and configurations
  • Understanding of CNC machining and fabrication
  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
  • Ability to work from drawings, specifications and physical components Aerospace, aviation, precision machining, tooling, test equipment, hydraulic or mechanical design experience is a major plus.
The right candidate must understand how parts are actually manufactured, not simply how to draw them. Concept → Design → 3D Model → Engineering Drawing → Manufacturing Applicants should submit a résumé and, preferably, a portfolio or examples of previous SolidWorks designs and drawings. Experienced SolidWorks designers only.
