!! A client of Insight Global is seeking an experienced AutoCAD Drafter to join their team in the Orlando, Florida area. This individual will support engineering and construction standards efforts, playing a key role in developing drawings, specification books, and technical documentation. The position is fully onsite (5 days/week) with occasional client interaction.
Responsibilities:
Develop and update detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings supporting engineering and construction standards Assist in creating and maintaining construction specification books and technical documentation Work closely with a Principal Engineer to translate requirements into standardized drawings and materials Interpret engineering direction and produce clear, organized CAD deliverables Support permitting efforts by preparing plan drawings for submission to local jurisdictions Read, interpret, and replicate roadway, civil site, and construction plans Coordinate with internal teams and occasionally meet with clients to clarify scope and requirements Ensure all drawings and documentation align with established standards and guidelines
Requirements:
1-2+ years of professional CAD drafting experience (not entry-level) Strong proficiency in 2D AutoCAD CAD Certification required (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred but not required) Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, drawings, and specifications Experience supporting utilities, power distribution, or civil/site development projects
