Job Description

This person will operate a CAD system to produce a variety of drawings. (Flow diagrams, P&ID'S, mechanical and tank drawings, misc. civil and structural drawings, equipment layouts, and piping isometrics). This role ensures that all technical documentation is accurate, compliant with standards, and optimized for efficient production. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Safety, Environmental, & Quality Compliance Utilize safe work habits and follow all policies and procedures Make sound decisions while not compromising safety, environmental or quality standards Complete/assist with audits as required and follow-up on any findings until corrected Turn in any hazards as they are identified to get them corrected as soon as possible Attend regularly scheduled training sessions to stay current on all compliance initiatives Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations and policies Process Design Duties Works to learn, comply, and maintain these standards:
OH&S 18001
(safety), ISO 14001(environment), ISO 9001 and
FSSC22000
(product quality), PAS 220(food safety/security) Must be self-motivated, strive for success, work in and with the maintenance/production teams, stay on task with limited supervision Communication skills need be such that daily tasks/accomplishments can be reported back to the Managers/Supervisors Works with efficiency to have openings for multiple tasks and other requested duties Assists in the preparation of Work Instructions/Standard Operating Procedures Develop and revise 2D and 3D CAD models, drawings, and assemblies for manufacturing components and systems. Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and customer requirements to produce accurate technical drawings. Maintain drawing standards, templates, and documentation according to company and industry guidelines. Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and quality teams to resolve design or documentation issues. Update drawings to reflect engineering changes, revisions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Assist in creating manufacturing instructions, layouts, and tooling drawings as needed. Continuous Improvement & Collaboration Collaborate with other departments within the company to accomplish tasks/goals as needed Suggest/implement process improvement, cost down, or best practice ideas Continually strive for increasing processing efficiencies Complete 5S activities to keep the work area clean and organized
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE
2-year or 4-year degree in Drafting, CAD Technology, Mechanical Design, or related field OR 4+ years equivalent work experience is required; 5+years of Trade experience in a similar industry is preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Excellent oral, written, and computer communication skills Ability to interpret technical drawings Proficiency with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar) Specialized training in AutoCAD 2d drawing Cross training in other maintenance areas Excellent attention to detail and strong orginzational skills Strong mechanical aptitude and experience Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
