Job Description

Job Summary Our client, a leading engineering and manufacturing provider, is seeking a CAD Technician to join their team in Muscatine, IA. The CAD Technician will use specialized software to turn rough sketches, notes, redlines, and engineer concepts into accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings and models for construction, manufacturing, and engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have strong AutoCAD skills, the ability to read blueprints and technical specifications, and strong attention to detail. This position will work closely with engineers, project managers, architects, and other technical teams to ensure drawings are accurate, practical, and meet project requirements.

Onsite Core Responsibilities Create detailed plans, layouts, elevations, and cross-sections using AutoCAD Translate rough hand sketches, redlines, engineer concepts, notes, and verbal directions into accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings and models Update and revise existing drawings based on client feedback, test results, engineering changes, and team redlines Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and construction or manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, accurate, and aligned with project requirements Read and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, measurements, and basic engineering information to develop accurate drawings Organize, label, maintain, and update digital drawing libraries, project files, and technical records Ensure completed drawings follow applicable project specifications, company procedures, and industry drafting standards Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves) Associate's degree in drafting, engineering design, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Experience creating accurate 2D technical drawings, plans, layouts, and details Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications Understanding of basic engineering measurements, dimensions, and drafting principles Ability to accurately interpret hand sketches, redlines, notes, and verbal design instructions Strong attention to detail and accuracy when creating and revising technical documentation Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves) Experience working in a manufacturing, engineering, construction, or related technical environment Experience creating, modifying, or working with 3D CAD models Familiarity with industry-specific drafting standards and technical documentation practices Experience collaborating with engineers, architects, project managers, or manufacturing teams Experience maintaining digital drawing libraries, document control systems, and project records Familiarity with additional CAD or engineering design software Experience incorporating client, engineering, testing, or field feedback into technical drawings Key Competencies & Behaviors Attention to

The approximate pay range for this position is between $26.00 and $38.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
