We are seeking a Drafting & Design Specialist to support engineering and manufacturing teams within a leading aerospace environment. This role will be responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining detailed engineering drawings and 3D models that support both product development and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong SolidWorks expertise, experience working with manufacturing documentation, and a solid understanding of aerospace drafting standards.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and revise detailed 2D engineering drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks
- Create production-ready documentation that supports product, tooling, fixture, and manufacturing activities
- Apply GD&T principles and
ASME Y14.5
standards to engineering drawings and technical documentation- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to ensure designs meet production requirements and design intent
- Support tooling and fixture design by developing models, drawings, and fabrication documentation
- Review and incorporate welding, brazing, and assembly requirements into manufacturing drawings
- Maintain accurate design records and configuration data within ERP, MES, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
- Update engineering drawings, release documentation, and change records as part of design revision processes
- Support manufacturing readiness by ensuring drawings are complete, accurate, and compliant with applicable standards
- Incorporate hydraulic system requirements into technical drawings and documentation when applicable
Required Qualifications:
- Experience using SolidWorks for 3D modeling, drafting, and design activities
- Strong knowledge of drafting fundamentals and engineering documentation practices
- Experience applying GD&T and
ASME Y14.5
standards- Ability to create detailed manufacturing and production drawings
- Experience collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams in a production environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Aerospace manufacturing experience
- Experience supporting tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment design
- Knowledge of welding, brazing, and other part-joining processes
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems and related design requirements
- Experience working with ERP, MES, and PLM systems
- SAP R/3 experience preferred Why Apply?
