Job Description
Prepare accurate fabrication-ready drawings, 3D models, technical documentation, and material lists based on customer-supplied specifications and preliminary designs. Job Requirements Associate's degree in Drafting/Design or equivalent work experience. Working knowledge of fabrication and welding processes. Proficiency with CAD software. Experience creating detailed engineering and fabrication drawings. Knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra. Familiarity with welding symbols, drawing symbols, dimensioning, and steel fabrication practices. Experience developing 3D models and 2D drawings. Experience preparing CNC burn files and material lists. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Preferred Skills Experience with AutoCAD. Experience with SolidWorks. Experience with Creo. Experience with ProNest. Experience with CutLogic. Experience with Global Shop ERP. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Knowledge of manufacturing tolerances. Familiarity with metallurgy. Job Responsibilities Produce detailed engineering drawings and fabrication-ready designs. Develop design specifications, technical documentation, and material lists. Convert preliminary sketches and customer-supplied information into production-ready drawings. Verify drawings for compliance with specifications, codes, and applicable regulations. Create 3D models, 2D drawings, CNC burn files, and fabrication documentation. Apply fabrication and material requirements to engineering drawings and designs. Prepare purchase requisitions for required materials. Identify and resolve design or fabrication issues. Maintain drawing revisions and technical documentation.
