Summary of Role:
Danpal North America is hiring a Design Drafter to support our operations, with a primary focus on creating accurate and detailed fabrication drawings for internal and external manufacturing teams. This full-time, on-site position requires close collaboration with sales, estimating, engineering, and manufacturing departments to translate architectural design concepts, approved submittals, and project requirements into clear technical drawings used for fabrication, production, and installation support. The ideal candidate will have prior experience preparing fabrication drawings, shop drawings, manufacturing drawings, or similar technical drawing packages. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret architectural and structural drawing sets, and the technical drafting skills needed to support custom building product solutions. Duties:
Create detailed fabrication drawings for internal and external manufacturing teams. Translate approved architectural design submittals, project requirements, and product details into accurate fabrication-ready drawings. Collaborate with sales, estimating, engineering, and manufacturing teams to develop custom project solutions. Prepare architectural design submittal drawings for customer review and approval. Calculate material requirements and prepare bills of materials based on project drawings and fabrication needs. Review architectural and structural drawing sets to identify relevant dimensions, conditions, and project requirements. Create and maintain system details used by sales, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing teams. Create, update, and maintain drawing templates and drafting standards. Document and maintain records of revisions, drawing updates, and design changes for both project-specific and product-related drawings. Work within established project timelines to ensure drawings and related deliverables are completed according to schedule. Ensure final drawings comply with applicable regulations, internal quality standards, and project requirements.
Qualifications:
Prior experience creating fabrication drawings, shop drawings, manufacturing drawings, or production drawings is required. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D. Ability to produce accurate, detailed technical drawings suitable for fabrication and manufacturing use. Ability to read, interpret, and extract information from architectural and structural drawing sets. Experience working with building products, architectural systems, or construction-related materials preferred. Degree or certificate in engineering, drafting, design technology, architecture technology, or a related technical curriculum preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Good math skills, including the ability to calculate dimensions, quantities, and material requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
